ACM AEM O-rings

ACM / AEM O-rings

Importance and reliability in automotive and industrial applications !

ACM / AEM O-rings

Acrylate rubber (ACM) is a type of synthetic rubber that is produced by polymerizing acrylate monomers. Acrylate rubber has good heat, oil, and weather resistance, and is therefore widely used in the automotive industry, petrochemicals, and other applications that require high-temperature and oil-resistant environments. Below are some details of acrylate O-rings:

What is the ACM O-rings Material Properties?

  • Heat resistance: Acrylate rubber is usually able to maintain its performance in high temperature environments, the temperature resistance range is generally between -20°C and +175°C, some specially formulated acrylate rubber can withstand higher temperatures.
  • Oil Resistance: Acrylate rubber has excellent resistance to petroleum-based oils, lubricants and fuel oils, making it ideal for oil-resistant seals.
  • Weather Resistance: Acrylate rubber has good weather and UV resistance, making it suitable for outdoor use.
  • Chemical resistance: Acrylate rubber is resistant to a wide range of chemicals, but is less resistant to certain polar solvents and strong oxidizers.
  • Mechanical properties: Acrylate rubber has good elasticity and resistance to permanent deformation in compression, but its abrasion resistance and tear resistance may not be as good as some other rubber materials.

Where is the Application areas ?

Acrylate O-rings are widely used in automobile engine system, transmission system, fuel system, brake system, hydraulic system and petrochemical equipment, etc. They are used for sealing high temperature oil pipes, hydraulic system, fuel system and so on.

How is the Manufacturing Process ?

Acrylate O-rings are usually manufactured by molding or extrusion molding process. Molding is to put the pre-mixed acrylate rubber material into the mold and form it under high temperature and high pressure; extrusion is to extrude the acrylate rubber material into the shape of O-ring through extruder and then vulcanize it.

Which is the Specifications and Standards ?

Acrylate O-Rings are available in a variety of sizes and hardnesses that can be customized for different applications. Common standards include ISO 3601 (international standard), AS 568 (American standard), etc.

What should we pay attention to ?

  • Storage conditions: Acrylate rubber materials should be stored in a dry, cool, well-ventilated place, avoiding direct sunlight and high temperatures.
  • Use environment: Although acrylate rubber is heat and oil resistant, it may be affected in some polar solvents and strong oxidizing agent environments.
  • Installation Requirements: Avoid scratching or twisting when installing acrylate O-rings to ensure sealing effectiveness.

The selection and use of acrylate O-rings need to be determined according to the specific application environment and requirements to ensure the best sealing effect and service life.
